We are looking for new bikes for our boys who want to learn BMX tricks and ride in the neighborhood for exercise. Currrently have mountain bikes and want something to ride that is more upright.

Which type of bike is better for exercise?

I am looking to buy a bike to strengthen my core muscles. I would like to buy a cruiser bike. I am not sure if it will be good enough to strengthen my core because of the upright position and the single speed. So, my question is can i get a cruiser or is it better to get a mountain bike so I can be in a more leaned over position?
What is the best type of bike for city riding? And what kind of bike would you recommend I buy?

I don’t really have the money to replace my bike, but I will be using it every day soon and I want to have something road worthy.
I may start looking for used, but I need help deciding what to look for:
I like (need) a comfort saddle (like the kind you find on Specialized Comfort bikes).
I like to lean forward a bit (not ride in upright position).
I ride in the city, on pavement that is smooth (but for they occasional crack or bump).
Sometimes I ride hard and I desire performance; I use my bike for exercise and less often transportation (though that may be changing).
I enjoy my current ride: a cheap Specialized hybrid (comfort/mountain), but it’s kind of boring, not enough balls I might say.
Specific models would be great (but keep the MSRP under $500).

i just found out i am pregnant, i am guessing about 1 month. i have been doing the recumbent bike (low impact) and also hip abduction, leg press, leg extension, hamstring curl, and alot of the arm machines. Can I keep doing this or should i swap some stuff out? what about squats, crunches, using 5-8 lb weights for arms, etc??? how about pregnancy yoga/pilates or water aerobics?
Whats the best type of bicycle for cross country/state?

My mom and I want to ride bikes from our house to my grandma’s house in Montana. We were wondering what kind of bike would be best (I mean like recumbent bikes, road bikes, mountain bikes, etc.)
Were planning to go from Washington (state not DC lol) to Columbia Falls, Montana. Or from Washington to Boise, Idaho
P.S. Would you have to have a pace car or a car in front or behind you by law? My mom is wondering lol
