I’m going on my first bike tour, it’s 8 days, 511+ miles, 800 riders plus support folks. I’m on a Ranz recumbent, we’ll stay in tents in rural parts of Kansas, with a few days of sleeping in a high school gym. It’s June 5-13. I’ve frequented the website for this trip and read and asked many questions.
Do you have any strange, obscure, tips you could give for survival / comfort on the ride?
)
Thanks!
Thanks for the answers guys! Yeah, by “newbie” I just meant it’s my first tour. I’m training now and have been training for 4 months. I’m looking forward to being in shape and being ready. I was just looking for some tip that someone might not think of, such as two pairs of comfortable riding shoes.
1.) I have a Schwinn Le Tour III (3), and from my research its from the 70’s. so its pretty old. it has some surface rust, all original, stock parts. and i was wondering how much i could sell it for. Brakes work perfectly, brand new tires, brand new grip. Brand new break pads.
2.) I also wanted to ask; if i convert to fixie, would i be able to sell it for more?
Does anyone know where I can get info on Tour Easy Recumbent Bikes? I’ve tried google searching but can’t find much info. I would like to get the manufacturer’s web page, but google doesn’t take to it.
I have 2 of these bikes I would like to sell ( inherited them), but can’t find any info as to the value. There aren’t any on Craig’s list or Ebay to compare them to, and the local bike shops aren’t very good at giving honest appraisals. I took a Merlin titanium bike around to our local shops to get the value estimated, they all offered to buy for around $800.00, they said that’s all it was worth, sold it on Craig’s list for $2,500.00 so I don’t really trust them anymore. I know what they were bought for when new, the large black one with a fairing and rack was bought for just over 5 grand. and the smaller red one sold new for $2500.00. If anyone knows anything about these bikes or knows a website that has resale info please let me know. I’ve already tried google and craigslist.
