Walk 20 minutes @ 3mph on treadmill

20 minutes @ low tension @ 3mph on elliptical machine

3 miles distance (20 minutes) at low/medium tension on normal exercize bike

3 miles distance (20 minutes) at low/medium tension on recumbent exercize bike

 

How to slim down and tone up?

What kind of exercises can i do to slim and tone? I already have an elliptical, a recumbent bike and a stairmaster at home. If i use these will my legs get all bulky and short looking or long and lean? Will using these machines slim all over my body?

 

Does biking on an exercise bike tone your body as much as running does?

I used to run on a treadmill for an hour, but it broke. I can’t afford to fix it right now and I don’t want to run outside because its FREEZING, literally. Will biking on an indoor exercise bike be just as good (in terms of toning) as running?

I’m a 5′2″ girl and I weigh 190lbs. I had weight loss surgery about a month and a half ago and I’ve cleared by my doctor to start more rigorous exercise. I’m a “light weight” when it comes to this surgery, which means I can expect to lose about 2lbs a week. That’s great and all, but what I really need is to tone up. I’m going on a cruise with my family and boyfriend in the beginning of April, and I have a little over 5 weeks to tone up. I know I can’t expect amazing results or anything, but I want to make sure that I do everything that I can to get in as good shape as I can (though obviously I’ll have to keep up my exercise after the cruise to keep toning for the summer/until I reach my goal weight). I have a recumbent bike that I use for about 30mins a day, as well as the TaeBo Cardio & TaeBo Flex and Turbo Jam videos. I haven’t used either in a long time, but I was thinking of starting to. So, what’s the best exercise for me- assuming I do either Tae Bo or Turbo Jam (or both?) and combine that with my bike cardio (maybe up that to an hour)?. Thanks!
fyi- I don’t need diet advice. I’m on a medically approved diet plan after my weight loss surgery and I’ll be losing weight automatically even if I didn’t exercise. What I really need to know is what exercise is best to supplement my diet and help me tone up as much as I can before my big vacation (it’s a 10 day caribbean cruise! So lots of bathingsuits…)

 

What is the best way to tone body, lose body fat and look better?

I want to transform my body and am open to any ideas. I usually ride a recumbent bike, use a treadmill at home. Don’t have any weights. I eat pretty healthy, but have an addiction to sugar and carbs (like most people or hormonal women). I know about weight gain associated with gain of muscle and I haven’t experienced that problem. Let me know what you do, or what you KNOW works. If you can, attach websites?
