I have been trying to diet this summer…I weighed 112 at the start and now at 117 when I was trying to LOSE 4 pounds! I will try to start an exercise or diet plan…ran five miles ONCE…burned 500 calories doing recumbent bike ONCE…did a 1200 calorie per day diet ONCE…I can’t stick to ANYTHING! I know my weight will fluctuate and will probably go down but i really want to get fit this summer..but my mom keeps buying junkfood that i really like and eat a ton of! and don’t say i’mskinny because I’m not for my height (5′4”) I really need ideas of exercising plans or dieting I can stick to! PLEASE HELP!

Help Build running stamina b4 Boot camp?
Ok well i am leaving in 2 weeks for USAF BMT and My run is not as well as it used to be due to smoking, its cold as hell out and treadmills/elliptical machines do not help me at all, could i get some tips on how to build my stamina up as much as possible before boot camp

Elliptical machine tension belt help?
I had to take apart my magnetic elliptical machine to put the tension belt back on (not sure why it came off…)
There’s a spring coil on the wheels to make it possible to replace the belt, but even with my husband’s help, I can’t depress the spring enough to get the belt on. Pain in the butt! Is there some sort of trick to this?
It’s a Diamondback 1100 EL, if that helps.

Do you think doing 45 minutes on an exercise bike along with reducing calories will help me lose weight?
I go to school full time and work, so its hard to get to the gym, but I have an exercise bike and I figure I can probably do it for about 45 minutes a day at least 4 times a week. Will this help me lose weight along with reducing calorie intake?
Looking to upgrade a GT Karakorum MT bike to a commuter bike. Need a little help.?
I would like to change the handlebars and I guess the headset to give me a more upright riding position. Sort of like the newer comfort bikes. Any suggestions as to what bars and such I’d need? I already have slick tires, a rear rack and light on the bike. I’ve commuted to work with it a few times as it is now but feel a more upright position would be more comfortable on the road.

Heavy Punching bag help?
I got a couple of questions! I have a treadmill and a recumbent bike but I somewhat injured my knees and I don’t want to strain them anymore. Anyways, I do also have a heavy punching bag and I was wondering if I can substitute the punching bag as a form of cardio? Is it good cardio ? and can I do it daily for about 20-30 mins everyday?
And another question is whats a good from/technique? and how do I limit the amount of shock coming back to me, for example when the punching bag is swaying — when do I punch it to avoid the least amount of shock when its coming to you or going apart from you ? I asked a couple of people they told me both.

I use an upright stationary bike, but I am trying desperately to shrink my leg muscles while losing weight. I ride the bike with very little resistance, in the hopes that I won’t increase my leg muscles. I sweat and my heart gets up to like 110 BPM, but I really don’t know if I’m doing anything or burning many calories because I use very little resistance. What do you think?

When i go to get on the scooter i dont even pull back on the power handle and it starts moving foward.Only a green light is supposed to come on when you hit the on button but all three lights come on. How do i fix it?
