I have an elliptical and a few free weights but I don’t know how to get the most out of a workout from them. Do I start slow and how long to go before I even benefit. Help.
Sorry, yes from the elliptical but also I was saying i had a few free weights so I could incorporate them into a workout. I will do some research but 30 mins. sound about right I guess. Can I do it every other day or should it be every day do you know? Thanks!!

how do you get the best workout from an elliptical?
Finding I-max and direction cosines from an inertia matrix of a rigid body with respect to its centroidal axes?
Problem is this:
[I] = (3×3 matrx)
1, -2, 1;
-2,2, -1;
1, -1, 3
a)Determine the maximum principle moment of inertia
b) Determine the direction cosines of the principal direction corresponding to this maximum.
Have went thoroughly through the book and cannot find this being used, the closest I found were 3×3 matrices in relation to Ix or Iy only. Any help appreciated, thanks!
No Results from using my elliptical machine?
I am Male, 30 years old, 5′11″, 240lbs. I do my elliptical machine twice a day 6 days a week. 20 min. in the morning and 40 min. after supper. I do my ab roller daily. 20 min. Do you get as much exercise from a comfort bike as a “fitness” bike?
I’m upgrading from a lousy little Huffy to a “real bike.” (shopping in the $400 range) The original goal was to find a bike that let me sit more upright, and I’ve found a comfort bike that is, in fact, really comfortable and upright. However, several salespeople have told me that you don’t get as much of a workout on a comfort bike as you do on other bikes because not as many muscles are utilized. (one salesperson disagreed)
I’m not planning on racing, but I am trying for a cardio workout, muscle toning, and calorie burning. Is the comfort bike a bad fit for me? I bike 30 to 90 minutes at a time at least 3 days a week, if that matters.
Yes, these sales people were in actual bike shops.
I have seen bikes categorized as “fitness” in several stores. In my limited understanding, they seem to fit on the road bike side of hybrid bikes.

How do I detach the rear bmx hub on my diamondback bmx bike from rim?
Hi, I have a diamondback bmx bike, and part of my rim bent (don’t ask me how). I bent it back in place, but it’s kinda sharp and doesn’t feel safe. So I want to get a new rim, but my rear hub has really good bearings and I want to use it. I don’t know how to detach and attach the hub though…help?
Will Marvel Mystery Oil keep ethanol from gumming up the carburator on Yamaha motorcycle?
After sitting for a week, bike would start but not keep running. Dealer says because of California emmissions and ethanol, this will continue to be a problem for me. The options were 1) When through riding, keep bike upright, turn fuel line off, and allow gas to burn out of carbs and fuel lines. Add half stregnth stabilizer if not riding for a week or more. And 2) Go outside and start bike and let run for 10 minutes or so, or take it around the block a few times. Do this every other day. Neither option seems appropriate. I’m a weekend rider with a busy weekly schedule. Would Marvel Mystery Oil or other additive help in my situation? If so, how much for 4.2 gallon tank? Appreciate all help. Thanks
Appreciate answers, but personal opinions on whether or not I should ride are not appropriate. I meticulously maintain my rides and am more than willing to perform proper maintainence. I was only looking for a simpler solution to this situation. June

My heart pulse increases from 58-59 to 75-80 upon waking and standing, respectively. Is this normal?
I’ve been performing Dr. Coca’s Pulse Test on myself, but I’m not sure if whether or not I’m a candidate. My usual recumbent pulse upon waking is 58-59, and it jumps to 75-80 once I’m out of bed. How can I assess whether or not I’m having an allergic reaction to any of the foods I test when my pulse seems to abnormally jump so high? I’m 6′5″ and weigh 248 lbs. Is my allergen just the fact that I awake, period? LOL I don’t know. Can someone who’s more familiar with Dr. Coca’s Pulse Test and/or cardiology guide me? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Merci very mucho!
I greatly appreciate everyone’s answer. I know it is very normal that the human heart’s pulse accelerate when one goes from the recumbent to the upright position. I guess I was more inquiring to audiences familiar with Dr.Coca’s Pulse Test.
SkepDoc2.0: Could you please elaborate your position with regards to Dr. Coca’s findings and test? Have you read his books? I find your answer, which is appreciated, somewhat hastened and seemingly uninformed about the aforementioned test. After all, this is considered alternative medicine, which doesn’t automatically deject it from being valid. I didn’t pay anything as it is freely available online.
PS: I think I’m allergic to corn and egg according to the test. This wouldn’t surprise me.

3)“A few miles south of Soledad, the Salinas river drops in close to the hillside bank and runs deep and green.The water is warm too, for it has slipped twinkling over the yellow sands in the sunlight before reaching the narrow pool.On one side of the river the golden foothill slopes curve up to the strong and rocky Gabilan mountains, but on the valley side the water is lined with trees–willows fresh and green with every spring, carrying in their lower leaf junctures the debris of the winter’s flooding; and sycamores with mottled, white, recumbent limbs and branches that arch over the pool.On the sandy bank under the trees the leaves lie deep and so crisp that a lizard makes a great skittering if he runs among them. Rabbits come out of the brush to sit on the sand in the evening, and the damp flats are covered with the night tracks of ‘coons, and with the spread pads of dogs from the ranches, and with the split wedge tracks of deer that come to drink in the dark.”
