A Sunny Day On The Greenspeed Gt3, Gto And Trice T Recumbent Trikes
It turned out to be a beautiful day for trike riding along the American River bike trail in Sacramento, CA so we took the opportunity to shoot some gratuitous trike porn featuring the Greenspeed GT…

Hey, I just looked at this again…is that a Schlumpf drive you have on the front of your GTO?!
December 19, 2009 7:46 am | #1Hi,Yep, it’s the Schlumpf Speed drive. I don’t usually need it for the more relaxed touring type rides I take, but last week I was doing a really fast 20 miler with my brother on the Q26 to see if the large wheel Q was faster than the GTO and I used the Schlumpf plenty on that ride!
December 19, 2009 8:39 am | #2Wow, that is one serious drivetrain you have there! No derailleurs at all…I’m thinking of having a Schlumpf mountain drive retrofitted to my GT3, because 20 gear inches is not low enough for me. More trike videos please!
December 19, 2009 8:42 am | #3The Speed drive is nice. It gives me plenty of top end and I’m never close to spinning out.We never did decide on a winner between the two trikes. Our unscientific test was to see if one of us would be able to pull away from the other one at top speed (this is usually a pretty good indicator to see if one bike is significantly faster than another). Even with switching riders, the trikes seemed to want to top out at around the same speed.

December 19, 2009 9:56 am | #5Nice video & great music. What’s with the flags though? I thought the trikes were Australian and British.I have an earlier ICE T 2005 model.
December 19, 2009 10:03 am | #6Thanks for watching! The trikes are actually Taiwanese, although I think the center frames on the Trice trikes are still made in the UK. Greenspeed has the GTO and GT3/GT5 and X series made for them in Taiwan. My flag maker doesn’t sell any Taiwanese trike flags, but he might make one up for you if you request it
